Bolster cushion for new sofa

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

In December, Spoonflower posted this great tutorial for a bolster cushion. I knew I had to make one for our new sofa. I ordered fabric and it arrived on Monday. I immediately cut out the fabric and started sewing last night….here’s my progress.

100th post, give away and February’s goals

Guess what??? This is my 100th post. In celebration of all the support and fun I have had so far, I have my first give away…. a pair of pot holders I have made (seen here or here or in the color of the winners choice). Like the post, leave a comment or become a follower; and a winner will be chosen at random, and announced next Friday.

What are my plans for the near future – well at least for February??? Well, I linked up with A lovely year of finishes and The Girl who Quilts to give me the incentive I need to finish some of my projects and my goals for 2013.
A Lovely Year of Finishes The Girl Who Quilts

Here are my crafting goals for February:

  1. As mentioned on Friday 1st, complete top and back of my “Four Seasons in one day” (named after a crowded house song).
  2. Finish 4 sets of chair bags.
  3. Finish 4 sets of pot holders
  4. Cut out fabric for my son’s quilt
  5. Triple zip pouch
  6. Try out a paper piecing block

More general goals

  1. Continue with Life Style Challenge
  2. Post 3 times a week min.
  3. Post a new recipe each week

Meal plan – week 4

I would love to know what others are doing to eat well, or what your family is trying out, what life style challenges have you undertaken. Do you have healthy recipes to share? To make it easier to share I am starting this weekly blog hop (see below).

This week, I was much better at sticking with the meal plan. I made a couple of meals in the slow cooker which helped out a lot. The slow-cooker dal was very tasty….recipe to come soon. I am still struggling with the whole breakfast thing; so this week I am focussing on going to bed at 10:30pm and getting up 30 mins early to make breakfast.

This is our meal plan for the week:

DAY BREAKFAST DINNER
Saturday Oatmeal with grated apple + sultanas Brown Rice Spaghetti
Sunday Vegetable Omlete Stuffed Bell Pepper with Quinoa
Monday Oatmeal with Banana+Unsalted Peanut Butter Slow-cook Vegetable Chilli
Tuesday Fruit Salad with Flax seed Vegetable Burritos (or Tacos)
Wednesday Bircher Muesli (with soy not diary) Pizza (using FlatOut Bread instead of Whole Wheat Pita)
Thursday Whole grain cereal+Soy Fish Stew
Friday Bircher Muesli (with soy not diary) Bean Burgers + Salad

I am making one big splurge this week – I am making the best orange cake tomorrow.
