The quilt top for my sampler design is finished!! I even got in a quick photo between the rain showers.
I decided that I would use a slight offset grid in the 2nd row as I wanted the Half Rectangle Triangles to form a flying geese pattern. I am really happy with how it has turned out.
The fabrics used (except for the Kona White) are all from Spoonflower:
- Entangled (Heather Dutton)
- Mud Cloth (Andrea Whalen)
- Free-form arrows (Andrea Whalen)
- Math Blue (Katarina Roccella)
- White Birchbark (Kelly – Weaving Major)
- Twinkle Lights (Heather Dutton)
- Dark Orange Spot (Alex Morgan)
- Hip Chip (Alex Morgan) – will be the binding
Spoonflower Sample Block Tutorials
These blocks are being taught in my Spoonflower Classes, the last of the blocks are scheduled for September. In the meantime, I will continue to post each of the block tutorials, in case you want to make it up as well. Here are the first two:
That is my finish for this week. Linking up to Amanda Jean @ Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish it up Friday.
Just beautiful! Congrats,,,
I do like how you combined the blocks in the second row to make flying geese. The top looks great!
Love the way your blocks look!
How pretty! Love the bright colors together, and the blocks are so fun.
This just turned out really great! I love the colour palette (I think I’ve said that before) and how intricate it all is!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful .. So good I needed to say it thrice.
Such a lovely fresh looking sampler … and the larger block with the Flying Geese is very effective!
Lovely! I love this finish.
I like the second row especially 🙂
Love the choice to skip the one sashing and offset the second row, Michelle! Adds a nice bit of movement.
Great sampler, thanks for sharing!! Your color and fabric choice is just wonderful.
What a striking quilt. I really like it a lot.
Wow, that looks great! And what a unique sampler- I really like this!
