Give-away Day: Hawthorne threads Gift Card/Books

Hi All! I love this day each year, the opportunity to give back to the community and say thank you. So thanks to my followers old and new.

For those that are new, you can also find me on Instagram (IG) – ml_wilkie. I have been quilting for 3 years and have loved that I can combine my STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) background and my arts side. I discovered through Quilt Design a Day,  modern quilt designing is definitely my favorite aspect of quilting. Many of my quilts are my own designs.

I would like color choices. I always thought that wasn’t a problem for me, but the more I get into quilting, the more help I need.

Your Jungle Ave Tapa is just gorgeous!! Sorry got sidetracked there. If anything, probably information about the design process.

Oops – forgot to recommend a blog. I follow a ton, but I always look forward to Rita’s – Red Pepper Quilts. I love her precise style which is very different from mine 🙂

I think what interests me most in quilting is colour and composition– so, new ways of playing with these would be great!

I would love to learn more about designing quilts – especially the pattern writing part. I’ve only written one pattern so far and its HUGE! I wonder how much info I should include in a pattern and how much is too much. :/

In the new year, I want to learn more about paper piecing. I do think I must be among the very few who have never tried it. Once I get it down, I’d like to make a baby quilt using the blocks! duchick at gmail dot com
