I am so hoping we have a snow day on Wednesday. We have had cold weather for a week (below freezing) and then today it was t-shirt weather. How are am I therefore thinking about snow on Wednesday, you might ask?
Yes, it will be below freezing again tomorrow with our first chance of snow this year. Ooh and just found out schools are closing tomorrow with the threat of snow @ 4pm….nothing like a bit of over-reaction!!
Over the weekend, since it was cold, I was able to catch up on my Scrap-bee-licious blocks. Rachel over @ Like to sew asked for Anna Maria Horner Feather blocks in jewel tones. Her post includes the pattern and a quick cutting tutorial, if you are interested or would like to use it for your bee block.
Here are my blocks, which I thoroughly enjoyed making!!
The first, I made the feathers with “A Stitch in color” by Malka Dubrowsky for Moda (still available on Etsy stores), and “Mama said sew” by Sweetwater for Moda.
The second feather, I used “Clover Sunshine” by Alison Glass with Indigo Kona for the shaft.
Linking up for “Sew Cute Tuesday” @ Blossom Heart Quilts (see button on right menu).
Everything is closed for the next two days and to think we moved here to get away from the snow !
That feather quilt is on my Must Do It list, but heaven knows when. I just love the colours you’ve used, very beautiful.
I absolutely love the colors and fabric you picked for both feathers. I wish I were the lucky recipient!
Lovely bright feathers, one day I’d like to do some. One day.
I’ve always liked that pattern! That’s going to make a great quilt.
Oooh they are lovely and bright!
These are fun. I haven’t tried a feather yet, but they are on my must do list for one day. I really like the clover sunshine feather, that whole range just beams happy.
Your feathers look perfect! I have some feathers made, but I still don’t know what I’m going to use them for
oh love your feathers!! I want to try them!! will have to look into that and bookmark!!
I love. Love. Love. Those feather blocks. I’m gonna have to break down and make some soon!
Beautiful feathers. I love the bright colors you used.
Beautiful blocks! I like the contrast between the feathers and the background.
Pretty feathers! I really like the Alison Glass version.
I think that is my favorite too 🙂
These are just stunning!
