I definitely needed that snow day on Wednesday….I finally started catching up from being sick the first two weeks of January. Here I was thinking my goals were already so behind.
This week, I finished up:
- Pot holders (late Christmas Gift – also see giveaway)
- Feather blocks for Scrap-bee-licious
- Hive #3 January Stash Bee
Fabrics used were:
Black: Mama Said Sew by Sweetwater for Moda
Mustard: Timeless Treasures, Woodstock, Stitched Swirl Gold
Yellow Paisley: Jacqueline Savage McFee, Grey Matters, Paisley Sunshine
Grey: Leanne Hatch, Tri (Grey) – Spoonflower Designer - Riley Blake Challenge Block 1 Complete
Linking up with Amanda Jean @ Crazy Mom Quilts and Jo @ Riddle and Whimsy who is hosting TGIFF.
woot! Nice work! You’re cruising now. 🙂
Might get some more done too for tomorrow 🙂 since I have to take vacation as school is closed again!!
I know! I did chat with a lady at Emily’s dance class tonight. She was telling me it was pretty wet and slick in Garner. I suppose if closing the schools saves just one kid’s life or limb, it is worth the trouble. 🙂
You’ve certainly been busy. Love those feathers so much – how hard are the blocks to put together? Like, 1 hour, 2 hours, half a day? I need to try and work out how realistic it would be to make one, given how many projects I already have planned.
Oooh love those colourful feathers!!
Thanks….I am definitely going to have to make me some to keep as well 🙂
How did you make the riley challenge block? Its so beautiful
Thank you!! It is all improv piecing. I have the idea but I just take it as it comes. I start with strips and the cut them into smaller pieces. I sew two pieces together and chain piece pairs. Then I start piecing more and more of the pairs together. I did start with the yellows as I knew I wanted them in the middle then added my light oranges and finally the dark. I will Try and take some as you go photos with the next block and show how I put them together.
Your Riley Blake challenge block is amazing! I am a sucker for bright colours and gradations, and you went and did both! Fireworks!
Thank you so much :-). This is 1 of 4 so I am starting to feel the pressure now, but I am pretty happy how this one turned out.
I am loving all that orange!
I also love the orange 🙂 Great job on that block.
Gorgeous blocks and love the round potholder! The colors in your Riley Blake block are amazing.
Lots of pretty blocks and I especially adore the feathers!
Great to see how your projects are coming along. Loving that paisley on the stash bee block!
Those feathers are just beautiful!!
You got a lot accomplished! And all beautiful. I love the grey triangles you got from Spoonflower.
Love that last Riley Blake block! You’ve got so many things done!
Nice to see so much completed, the positive side to snow days. The blocks are lovely. I can never choose a favorite with you- love it all!
I’m jealous of your improv skills! All of your projects turn out beautifully!
