I worked out the other day that I have been working on 6 secret projects. It’s been killing me that I can’t share with you all. I have exciting news today!!
My first two projects are being released tomorrow and…
it’s my first publication and….
my project made the front cover of Love Patchwork and Quilting

I learned a valuable lesson while quilting this project…..if you have batting you know and you like it stick with it….your first publication, with tight deadlines, is not the time to try new batting. “Stick with what you know”. I had a terrible experience with slippage and puckering while quilting this project. I probably quilted each line at least twice.
In the end, I had to glue baste + pin baste + iron each row before and after stitching. It earned a nickname – “I hate you Quilt”.
I suppose now that it’s on the front cover, no hard feelings.
The other finish was a matching wall hanging. I love that stripped binding and the look of the diamond quilting on this mini.
Anyway, the pattern for both quilts are in Issue #23 of Love Patchwork & Quilting. It goes on sale tomorrow, so I hope you enjoy it!!
I hate learning things like that, especially when you’re instincts told you it wouldn’t work out but you ignore them.
The quilt and hanging are lovely, though. I love your red and pink combination. It’s hard to make that work, but it does.
Congrats on the cover!
How cute are those 3 suitcases! I’m old enough to have owned several of those–but never so colorful. I love the colors in the quilt–especially that pink print and that really gorgeous grey/white graphic! Well-deserved cover!
Congrats! They both look amazing and I can’t wait to get my copy.
Oh, lovely, well done on your cover feature! It’s a gorgeous quilt. Sadly we don’t get the magazine here…
Congratulations and how awesome that it made the cover! Having the binding match the color in the wall hanging in 2 places makes the stripes even more dynamic, too. 🙂
So great you are on the cover! Your quilts look so dynamic and colorful. I love the way the stripe binding is interrupted by the pink.
Oh man that sounds horrible! But at least it earned the cover after all that effort! I bet that feels awesome!!
Such a striking quilt! Definitely worth the effort 🙂 So excited to see your design in print!!!
Congratulations! They both look amazing.
Many congratulations – such a fun and vibrant quilt and runner 🙂
Being published is such fun! Cheers!
Congratulations! And they are gorgeous!! I feel for your pain, but I have to admit, the nickname made me laugh 🙂
So great to be on the cover!! Congratulations!! The quilt and more specifically you deserve this! It is the most lovable “I Hate You” quilt I’ve ever seen!
Oh my I think it is just gorgeous, sorry the batting gave you such fits.
Congrats! Love hearing about the ‘I hate you quilt’! It is gorgeous , but totally understand the sticking with what you know and love! I’m so happy for you…can’t wait to hear about the other top secret projects!
They look great! It’s too bad you had so many issues with the batting though – how frustrating!
Yay!!!! So great! I really really like the quilt and I’m so excited for you. 🙂 I love the rectangle blocks.
Congratulations, great project, super design and beautiful colors!! Waiting to hear about your other secret projects!!
This quilt is so lovely, saw it at the festival of quilts this weekend, I just fell in love it’s the backing fabric, but the magazine doesn’t say what you used. I was wondering if you would be able tell me what it is?

I love the colors in this stunning and clean design. I am probably posting way too late in the game, but I purchased the issue of the magazine so that I could get the instructions for your quilt. By any chance was a mistake made in the printing? Mine is an electronic copy and the directions for steps 3 through 11 are missing. It’s as though page 17 is a misprint of an unrelated quilt. I can figure it out, but being both lazy and curious, I thought I’d ask.
Hi Robin, I checked my version of the magazine and page 17 has 3-11on it. Maybe the reprint of the magazine is wrong??
