Finish it up Friday{05.07.2013}: Baby Quilt top

First off, it’s my sister’s birthday today. Happy Birthday Sis.

The other big news today is that I finished my first baby quilt top (that now makes 1 x mini quilt, and 1 x twin quilt top)…yippee !!!

Simply Stars
I love V and Co. “Simply” charm packs. They are so bright and colorful. The designs are very geometric but still whimsical, perfect for a baby quilt. The other great thing about this quilt, is it came together really quickly. Each star block took me about 30 minutes, and each 9 block took about 15 minutes. I love that it was so quick and easy.

After much practice, I think I finally have the knack for matching square blocks. I am very proud how aligned everything is. I was able to take some quick photos this afternoon which is very lucky as we have had thunderstorms/rain every afternoon for the last two weeks. Today is perfect weather!!!

This is lovely, I completely agree with you, the charm pack you used has great fabrics. I’m working on my first baby quilt at the moment too, it’s fun!

Thank you. The only issue I have now is the back I was thinking of adding the zig zag from the simply style but I just found out that yardage does not come out until the end of the month 😦

So great! It’s a perfect mashup of those two quilts. So are all the fabrics “Simply” fabrics? No other stash? I see some things I’m surprised are from those two lines!

Yes, There are only 3 fabric lines…1. Kona White Cotton, 2. Simply Color and 3. Simply Style. No other stash until I worked on the back. I am definitely in love with the Simply style and will have to buy more when yardage is released end of the month 😉
