Big News!!

First off, I have moved Book Review Tuesday for this week to tomorrow, as I have an announcement today that I am so excited about!!

I managed to get my deadline in this month for ALYoF. This is important, as I finished my first blocks for my first Spoonflower class, I am teaching.

Today, the class “Modern Quilt Blocks with Michelle Wilkie” was announced.  Can you believe it, the class is free for those that register!! Here are the first 3 blocks for class 1 of the Sampler Quilt.

So, if you are in North Carolina and can come to Spoonflower, May 18th, you can register for the class here or from Spoonflower’s Greenhouse Facebook page. For those that are not close by a tutorial for these blocks will follow.

There will be 4 classes in total, each class covers the blocks in my sampler quilt design:

Spring into April!!

We got Spring for a few days this week – it was delightful. The blossoms are so pretty this time of year and I managed to plant my tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers this weekend…just in time for the rain.

I have been thinking long and hard about the ALYOF (A lovely year of finishes) goal for this month. Last month was a bit of a bust, as life got in the way….how dare it :-). This month is a very practical goal….I am teaching a Sampler Quilt classes at Spoonflower soon. So, I really need to get at least the first 6 blocks made and the lessons written, if possible the whole 9 blocks.

This is also the project I am taking for Sew Down Nashville’s Open Sew sessions. I am linking up for A Lovely year of Finishes for this goal (see button on the right)

On the goal setting note, I am still trying to decide what my quarterly goals will be for Finish Along Quarter 2….need to do some planning 🙂

February finishes – March madness

I accomplished my main goal for February which was the Riley Blake Challenge quilt, so that is the first time (maybe the second) I actually made my “A lovely year of finishes” goal. Now, that is a big deal for me.

Here are how my other month goals feared. I think I had a really great month.

I am also joining in the 30/30 Challenge, and hope I can make X & + block per day to meet my March goal. This way I might be able to cut some of the TV, I have been watching and stop “laying like broccoli” (vegg’ing).
