Free Piecing Techniques + Sunday Stash {06.10.2013}

I had so much fun today in my first sewing/quilting class ever. Nicole @ Mama love quilts did a free class on piecing techniques at Spoonflower, and I attended. She showed us 3 different techniques on improv piecing:

  • Brown Paper Bag piecing
    LowVolumeBlock
  • Improv piecing
    ImprovBlock
  • Strip piecing (I don’t have a photo of this block as I run out of time)

This is the first class of four. Her next class, on modern log cabin blocks, is open for registration. I can recommend the classes, and you will have so much fun.

I am also playing with more low-volume fabrics, which I have sewn together in strips. I plan on deconstructing them. Here is a shot of my white, grey and black low-volume stash.

My photo’s this week, were inspired by Beth over at Plum and June. Her Quilt Photography workshop this week is to focus on color….I thought I would start practicing for her link up at the end of the month. Feel free to see what it is all about, the link is below.
