Sunday Stash #20: Birthday celebrations

Toda, June 8th, is my birthday!!! I am going to share with you a couple of my recent purchases which I am in love with. First up, my new addiction – Aurifil thread…which I recently purchased three boxes. Aurfil Boxes I love how it sews, whether I am using it for piecing, quilting or EPP.  I love the colors…what a wonderful palette of inspiration. As you may be able to tell I have cracked open my Botanics box already  (the middle one) for my current project….and can not wait until I get to the quilting with the thread.Aurfil Cotton Boxes The second thing I am loving and so excited about is Cotton and Steel. After seeing all the IG love of Quilt Market (ah…someday, when I grow up), I could not wait to get my hands on it….especially on the basics package from them. Anxiety is growing….I have pre-ordered everything. to my surprise, Laura @ Little and Lots emailed last week, and put me onto this wonderful bundle; Moonlit by Rashida Coleman-Hale (Cotton and Steel). I am loving those arrow prints, and everything for that matter :-). CottonSteel_Moonlit Those are two of my favorite things.

Lastly, in celebration of my birthday, I also have a giveaway. A fat quarter bundle consisting of 15 prints of First of Infinity Text. BrithdayGiveaway_2014 Just leave a comment about the one quilty purchases/ things you are in love with at the moment. I will draw a winner randomly next Sunday. Hope you all have a good week. Linking up with Quilts from the Attic for Molli’s Sparkles Sunday Stash.

    4. Have a wonderful birthday! I’m currently in love with your rotary circle cutter, shown in the last post, and can’t wait to get one. And the three packs of Bali Pop batik jelly roll strips in my cupboard, waiting to be hand pieced into my Winter quilt. Beautiful jewelled winter shades….

    11. Happy birthday! This year will be another good one for you and for us too as you share so much – are so inspiring! I’m still organizing my sewing room, but hope to find a baby quilt top that I started last year. I found the bright blue thread that I got to use on that project. End of the month is the one year birthday for little Adrian, would be great to come with a completed quilt for him. We have friends from other countries having babies soon too – those text prints would add so much interest to gifts for them. Thanks for the chance!

    16. A very happy birthday to you! I am loving that I have just finished a 6 month old WIP. IT’S DONE! And I’m pleased with how it turned out! And now I can move on to the other projects which excite me. (I also love that my FMQ skills are just a wee bit better now that I’ve finished this one off).

    24. Hope your birthday was awesome! My birthday is tomorrow, and my best quilt gift, if you want to call it that, was the quilt I gave my 1 year old Great Nephew this week. The best part of it was him grabbing it and snuggling up in it! Best gift ever for me.

    29. Happy Birthday Michelle! Thank you for the amazing giveaway opportunity.
I am currently in love with quilting pillows. My dad just repainted our living room light grey so because it is a neutral color, you can accent it with many colors. So I have just finished making my third pillow and trying to change the patterns and colors to change it up during the year once in a while.
    Great blog!

    32. Happy Birthday! They’re some pretty awesome purchases, well done! I’m crazy about Cotton & Steel – ALL of it, particularly Mustang but I’m so far trying to resist. I do keep getting a panicky, ‘what if I miss out?’ kind of feeling & I know I’ll cave eventually but feeling mostly good about resisting. Thanks for the chance to win some lovely texty fabrics.

    37. Happy Birthday Michelle!

Something I love right now… well, I’ve been all about Botanics lately and even though I’m supposedly working on the Infatuation blocks, yesterday broke into a charm square pack I had of it to make a really simple patchwork quilt. It took me a long time to come around on Botanics as a collection. I was a big fan of the neutrals right from the beginning, but the rest of it took a long time to grown on me. (But now I’ve got a FQ set and a layer cake still to use, even though I’ve gotten started with the charm pack.)

I reckon my favourite purchase at the moment is some Amy Butler, Soul Blossoms fabric. I ordered it online and wasn’t disappointed when I received it in real life….love the colours and funky patterns…

    47. Happy Birthday. Another year to look forward to. Love all those threads. The colors are so inviting. So funny, I have no fabrics with words on them. Hmmm, this will have to be changed.
Right now I am working with civil war fabrics. These are so wonderful. I am making a king sized quilt for my sons wedding.
