Yay!! Made lots of progress

I have been a little quiet in the past week, but it was for the best, as I made huge amount of progress this week.

I have finally started quilting the Neighbourhood quilt. YAY!! I am still deciding on thread.
IMG_2451I am straight line quilting in angled sections, marking the sections with washi tape (painters tape would also work).

IMG_2518First off, I am using the Aurifil yellow variegated thread to see what it looks like and then I will decide if I use the other colors as well.

Really like your quilting plan! Can’t wait to see this one finished! I need to remember the tape. . . I have been drawing straight lines for days. . . seems like weeks! 🙂

I like the yellow and bright pink threads best; the other two are such pale shades that they won’t register so well, and will look white against the stronger colours. Like what you’re doing with the quilting a lot! I’ve been on a hand quilting kick for a while now – it may be time to revisit machine quilting – once I unpack, of course!

Hurray! It is so hard to say about those threads, I think any of them would look good. I like your idea of using different ones in different areas!

Grat quilt and I love your plan for quilting in in angled sections. I’m thinking that no matter what you decided abou threads – using just one or using different ones in each section – it’s going to look fab when it’s quilted up.
