Phased Circles Quilt: Top Complete

Last month, I made my favorite quilt ever…..until this month. I have finished my Phased Circles quilt. I love this quilt so much, as my vision with my design came together so well, better than I could have dreamed.

I used 30 different Carolyn Friedlander prints, mixed from her Botanics and Architexture lines…can you believe it, that did not use all  the prints of hers I own (yes, I might have a slight fabric crush).

The solids were all Kona cottons and most of them were from the new colors – Curry, Prussian, Breakers, Torch, Valentine and lastly Wasabi.

The colors from these fabrics worked so well together. Here is a close-up of the center blocks. If you are interested in how I made these blocks, here is the tutorial.

Phased Circles Closeup For the back, I am using some of the gray, black and white prints of Carolyn’s lines, with just some simple piecing. I plan on doing straight line quilting to finish.

New Projects

I have a couple of things underway this week. One of those is a birthday present for a friend.  I have decided to make a Noodlehead Supertote with this fabric pull…just loving the colors of these fabrics.

I have these blocks underway with a palette of blues and corals:Blocks

Quilt Design a Day: #1 Safari Summer

Anne from Play Crafts has been on a journey to do a “Quilt Design a Day“. I have been following along via instagram, and loving it. After reading a recent post, I am finally jumping on the band wagon.

Today’s Color palette (they use the daily seeds palette) was Safari Summer.

I already had something forming, based on this section of the Tapa Cloth, I have framed and hanging in my bedroom.

And that turned into this:
