Sunday Stash {22.09.2013}: Stash basics

It has been a couple of weeks since I shared some fabric, don’t let that fool you though, as I have plenty to show 🙂

Here are a couple of additions, both are great stash builders. I have a lot of black text so I only picked up the ocean, clementine and grass of the Sun print text, from Stash Modern Fabric. I love the colors of these 3.

Quilt design complete

My Button

For this month’s “A lovely year of finishes” I am targeting to finish one of 3 quilt tops. I do not think I will get that quilt top finish, but the good news is I finished my first quilt design for the first quilt.

I had mentioned that I was looking to do something like this:

Well then I was in a meeting the other day, and someone had put up a powerpoint slide, which lead me to designing my own block using threadbias.com. It has a set of arrows that point in (this way) and a set of arrows that point out (that way). Here is a look at the block:

The quilt is for a boy who loves blue, so playing with blues and this design here is what I think  the final quilt will look like. What do you think?

Scrap-bee-licious September blocks

Big sigh!!! My scrap-bee-licious blocks are done for September, and they are early :-). This was my first time ever making the scrappy trip around the world blocks and they are a lot of fun and so quick….love them 🙂

It also gave me a chance to use my jelly rolls which this one I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it. Gwen, the queen bee of the month, decided to have a quilt focussed on her first year of quilting…..and this jelly roll fitted the theme perfectly if you asked me.

I am loving participating in the bee so far – such a great bunch of folks, and I can’t wait to see what other blocks we may get to make that I haven’t made before. I could easily become a bee addict.
