The fabric shop of focus this week, you guest it, it is Fabricworm. I love the definition of Fabric worm….A person devoted to fabric. You know that means most of us fabric addicts :-).

I have recently started buying fabric from Fabricworm, as they have good specials on a regular basis, in fact one for Memorial Day – 30-60 % of selected fabric. I don’t tend to buy bundles or whole lines, more one off fabric 1/2 yards. They do also they have a great range of Japanese Import fabrics. So, here are the new additions to my stash:

Puti de Pome, So Happy, Hippos, 5 Total, these hippo’s are a linen like fabric and I am planning in using them for pencil cases, felt-tip wraps or bags/totes for kids.IMG_7357

Alexander Henry, Once Upon A Time:  Princess Kingdom, and Fair maidens, natural. I paired these two prints with Patty Young, Textured Basics: Shoreline Tangerine, and Shoreline Salmon.IMG_7364

Erin McMorris, Moxie: Buttercup TangerineTalk Talk Tangerine, Buttercup Grass, Talk Talk Sky. I am thinking of using the buttercup fabric for the outer pencil cases and the Talk Talk fabric for the inside lining.IMG_7360

Timeless Treasures, Sketch Basics: Orange, SmokeCitronIMG_7356

Here are some of the miscellaneous fabric 1/2 yards I also purchased:IMG_7369

  3.  Laurie Wisbrun, Bright and Buzzy, Sky

For our Guild meeting next month (Triangle Modern Quilt Guild), I signed up to participate in a 18″ x 18″ pillow swap.  I saw this as the perfect opportunity to try my new book purchase “Pillow Pop” out.

I decided I wanted to use blue and green as more the solid prints and mix them in with low-volume prints. I have chosen from the book to do the “Crystallized” Pattern by Angela Mitchell, it uses 100 HST (Half – Square Triangles).

I spend the evening last night in front of the TV cutting all the 3″ x 3″ squares I will need. Here’s a peek.

The stack of Fabrics I used (now I have a great scraps pile too 🙂 ) + the 100 squares:

Mid-May Goal check-in

Today, I am squeezing under the wire to report my mid-May goals update. I am linking up with “A lovely year of finishes”.

My Button

My goal for May was simple….finish 9 small projects (which included the list below)

  • Etsy order for Chair Bags
Completed and sent. See this post
  • Madrona Road Mini Quilt
    Finished and posted yesterday.

  • 18″ Pillow for Quilt Guild Pillow Swap
Underway, pattern chosen – using a pillow pop design.
  • Finish machine quilting “Four Seasons in One Day” Quilt
    No more progress
  • Start one of the mini quilts (see side bar)
    Not started.

So overall, I don’t think to bad, about 50% of projects finished or underway. I also completed a set of pot holders which I blogged about here.
