Double chocolate banana bread

I have been seeing a lot of banana bread and nutella recipes. I decided to modify my banana bread recipe so it included chocolate chip and nutella. Boy, it was amazing – very rich though, one slice was enough 🙂

Modifications to the Original Recipe:

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup Nutella

Additional Directions

Follow the directions in the Original recipe but add the 1 cup of chocolate chips to the banana mix before adding the dry ingredients. Pour batter into tin as described.

Melt Nutella for 20 seconds on high in the Microwave. Pour the nutella on top of the batter. Use a knife to mix in the nutella slightly into the top of the loaf. Bake as stated in the original directions.

Serving suggestions: Serve warm with whip cream and a coffee

Meal Plan – Week 5

This week was a challenge that’s for sure. We started the week with my son having strep throat and then just when we thought we had that kicked; the pipes burst in our master upstairs bathroom leaving our kitchen ceiling with significant damage.

We made it through, waiting for the workers to come back Monday and put our house back to normal.  In the meantime, this is our meal plan for the week:

DAY BREAKFAST DINNER
Monday Oatmeal with Banana and Almond butter Vegetable Burritos
Tuesday Fruit Salad with Flax seed Quinoa Spaghetti and Tomato Sauce
Wednesday Whole Grain Cereal with Soy Pizza (using FlatOut Bread instead of Whole Wheat Pita)
Thursday Oatmeal with Grated Apple and Sultanas (Golden Raisins) Aloo Gobhi (Indian Cauliflower and Potato Curry)
Friday Oatmeal with Banana and Almond butter Grilled Fish and Vegetables

100th post, give away and February’s goals

Guess what??? This is my 100th post. In celebration of all the support and fun I have had so far, I have my first give away…. a pair of pot holders I have made (seen here or here or in the color of the winners choice). Like the post, leave a comment or become a follower; and a winner will be chosen at random, and announced next Friday.

What are my plans for the near future – well at least for February??? Well, I linked up with A lovely year of finishes and The Girl who Quilts to give me the incentive I need to finish some of my projects and my goals for 2013.
A Lovely Year of Finishes The Girl Who Quilts

Here are my crafting goals for February:

  3. Finish 4 sets of pot holders
  4. Cut out fabric for my son’s quilt
  5. Triple zip pouch
  6. Try out a paper piecing block

More general goals

  1. Continue with Life Style Challenge
  2. Post 3 times a week min.
  3. Post a new recipe each week
