Finish it up Friday – Triple Zipper Pouch {22.03.2013}

Another March goal has been completed, my triple zipper pouch !!!. I am gifting this to a friend at work, who has supported my fabric obsession, dropping the mail off at my desk.

I joined in January the triple zip along, which provided a tutorial from Debbie at “A Quilter’s table“. There have been come amazing creations…finally, about a month late, my triple zipper pouch is done. I used Les Amis Fabric by Patty Sloniger for Michael Miller Fabrics.

Note, I did use the alternative ending for the pouch which was posted in this post by Marci Girl Designs.

WiP Wednesday: Triple Zipper Pouch {20.03.2013}

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
My work in progress this week is the triple zipper pouch, I am thrilled to finally start it. This has been on my to do list for both February and March, I had chosen out my fabric. All the pieces are cut out and I have put the web interface on the relevant pieces.

Hoping to finish for Friday. In the meantime, I am thinking of signing up for another Craft show at a local outdoor market – Western Wake Farmers Market. They are holding a Spring Craft Fair in May, so it should have warmed up by then, and the entry fee is not that bad. That gives me 8 weeks (well, 7 as I have one business trip in the middle there), which I think I can pull stock together by then. If I sign-up then I would have meet one of my yearly goals…..I suppose that means there is not much more to think about 😉

Playing with hexagons + new fabric

A very good friend of mine, asked if I had any coffee cup sleeves left ,as she wanted to give one as a gift. I was excited about another order but I only had a couple of plain tops made (a black, red and blue one)  but none complete.  None of these tops were very inspiring.

Then, the other day I got an order from Fresh Modern Fabric who included a couple of mini charm pieces of Tsuru fabric line. I love this fabric, and I decided to make a coffee cup sleeve using these charm pieces + some solid colors (which were from my prize from “The girl who quilts“, thank you…thank you). Then, suddenly, I had another idea……lets try some hexagons. I used grey felt for the back in, grey cotton for the quilting, and of course, my usual hair-tie and button.

Here is the end result, I will definitely make a few more of these.

As I fell in love with this Tsuru fabric, I was ecstatic when I read a blog last week about the price cuts at Contemporary Cloth (I am so sorry I forgot who it was I read it from…..but whoever it was thank you 🙂 )…..guess what they had on special – yes you guessed it the Tsuru 8 fat quarter bundle. Today my bundles arrived:
