Tula City Sampler (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) + Last week of New Bloggers Blog hop

I definitely love being on vacation, and to share there is one more vacation post coming tomorrow. As far as my sewing efforts, I did not get 4 hours a day but did at least two which is great if you ask me. I also did not get everything done that I wanted (I was a little too optimistic), but I did make a good dent in my list. I managed to complete or start:

  • Two triple zipper pouches made for teacher gifts
  • One triple zipper pouch for Triple Zipper Pouch Swap (post to come)
  • Basted 60 solid grey 1 inch hexagons, now starting to hand-sew them on to my hexagon quilt and I am almost finished that row. Need to finish this by August 9th to enter A Season by Hand @ Clover and Violet
  • Kiwi Cushion/Pillow front complete (post to come)
  • Finally, I finished Blocks 1, 2, 3 of Tula City Sampler and in 1/2 day managed 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (3 weeks down, only 6 more to catch-up on). Here are what the last 6 blocks look like….remember I a using Spring House by Moda for the fabric.

Weekend Finishes {06.17.2013}

This weekend, I had some projects I needed to catch up on, one being a birthday gift for a friend. It took me a while to decide what I would make, I had one hundred and one ideas. I finally decided on making my first coin purse. After a false start (which we won’t talk of), I finally finished my little gift mid-day on Sunday and dropped it off an hour later (with instructions it still needed to dry for 8 hours). A little close I know 😉

Details: Coin Purse
Design: Michelle Wilkie (Squeek Crafts – that’s me)
Silver Frame + Glue: While Baby Naps (Etsy Store, glue can only be sent within the US)
Outside Fabric: Carnaby Street  – 60’s Waves Midnight (Purchased from: Moona Fabrics – Etsy)

WiP Wednesday {05.06.2013}: Craft Storage Board

I have updates for 3 projects I have previously been working on. In October, last year, I shared the craft storage board that I was making.  Well that now is almost finish….I am storing my cotton reels, ribbons and things like sewing machine needles, pins etc.

The green containers will ultimately be screwed into the board under the cotton and once that is done it will be put on the wall above my sewing machine.IMG_7410

Last weeks projects are moving forward. The hexagons look like they will land up being a baby quilt – thanks for all the suggestions…The hexagons are now about 20″ wide.

I am almost finished the top for the pillow/cushion….The bottom 3 rows are the last pieces that need to be added. I will be finished by Thursday night (with a push :-)). IMG_7411

I am linking up with Lee @ Freshly Pieced for WiP Wednesday.
